Pontresina, Engadin, Switzerland  ·  3 hr from Zurich  ·  Neo-Baroque grand hotel

Grand Hotel Kronenhof

A neo-Baroque Engadine landmark facing the Roseg glacier, where a twenty-metre counter-current pool is the room's real reason for being.

A neo-Baroque landmark from 1848 facing the Roseg glacier, and the pool is the reason to book: twenty metres by eight, with a counter-current, in a spa of over two thousand square metres.

Around it, a stone-grotto steam bath, a saltwater grotto, a floating relaxation bath, a Kneipp footpath, and Finnish and bio saunas with a fireplace relaxation room. Thirteen treatment rooms.

The age rules are precise and worth reading: water world twelve and over with an adult, fitness fourteen, sauna sixteen, and the jacuzzi closed to under-seventeens between five and eight in the evening. Which means the early evening is quiet by design.

If this appeals

Compiled from the hotel's own published pages where available, otherwise from trade and press sources, correct as at September 2026. Anything marked "not published" is something the hotel does not state — we would rather tell you that than guess. The image above is a generated illustration, not a photograph of the property.
