A five-hundred-year-old Seefeld monastery brewery run by the same family for six generations, currently closed for post-fire reconstruction.
The Seyrling family have been on this site since 1516 and are on their sixth generation, which is not a marketing line but a fact about how the place is run. It is currently closed after a fire in April and is due to reopen on the first of December.
When it does: a thirty-five-hundred-square-metre spa open from seven in the morning until eight at night, including the days you arrive and leave. A hand-carved hot-time sauna, a bread-baking sauna, outdoor panorama whirlpools at thirty-six degrees, and a relaxation cellar with a beer fountain that does not stop.
Board runs from breakfast through a lunch buffet where bathrobes are fine, cake in the afternoon, and six courses at night. The minibar is free and stocked with apple juice and stone-pine spring water. There is a hundred-and-fifty-thousand-square-metre private nature park behind the hotel.
